Okay, so, finally got a semblance of a schedule in my life, and the great Lost re-watch can re-begin after a get back from vacation.  Stay tuned.

Busy, blah blah blah
When you live with another adult and also a four-year old, you don’t get the tv to yourself that often.  Usually I stay up late and savor the moments, after everyone else is in bed, that I can spend watching Lost, a show that my nuclear family has all long since grown tired of, all by myself.  I’ve just been so busy lately that those quiet moments have been better spent sleeping. ...

Season One, Episode Six, "House of the Rising Sun"
First let me apologize for being out of commission.  I’ve been totally sick, and I’m still in bed, but managing.  There are a few things that I wanted to touch on with this episode.  First, on the characters of Sun and Jin in general, I don’t think there’s been another network television show with main characters who speak in another language, where the majority of their...

Schedule derailed by sinus infection.  Might post this weekend, might not, depending on how lucid this medication leaves me.

Season One, Episode Five, "White Rabbit"
This is one of those episodes where the full relevance to the show’s mythos doesn’t really become completely clear until quite a bit later.  So, pay attention. One this I noticed watching this episode again is that the flashbacks are done very effectively, without the overly distracting “woosh” sound cue.  I wonder about that, if it was something the show’s...

It occurs to me...
…that with all the discussion about disability issues in the last post I should probably be putting image descriptions on my photos.  So I will!

Season One, Episode Four, "Walkabout"
This episode, which reveals a bit of the backstory of the mysterious John Locke, presents a bit of a problem for me.  You see, I love Terry O’Quinn’s acting, he’s one of those genius character actors who can completely become a role.  This particular John Locke-centric episode of one of the best out of the entire series. And yet…well, episode spoilers below the fold. I...

I’m pretty sure this is an April Fool’s, but come on…how cool would that be?

Season One, Episode Three, "Tabula Rasa"
Netflix counts this as episode three, so I am going to as well. This episode was also filmed some time after the pilot, and you can tell, since Sawyer’s hair is noticeably longer, and Walt is noticeably older.  Other than that, though, it seems a pretty seamless transition from the pilot to the series as a whole. The title of this episode means “clean slate” in Latin, if you...

So I'm watching the Special Features on the DVD...
And apparently Jack was supposed to die in the pilot!  And Kate was supposed to be the series lead!  And Yunjin Kim (the actress who plays Sun, who we have only seen so far as a meek, obedient wife) originally auditioned for the role of Kate. Now, I love Lost irrationally, but I must admit, I kind of mourn the loss of the show starring a beautiful and badass WOC leading a band of plucky survivors...

Season One, Episode One, "Pilot, Part I and II"
The Great Re-Watch Begins! So we’re back from the hospital, and to help put that particular drama well behind us I’m going to go ahead and do this write up after watching the pilot.  Nothing like delving into the traumatic events in the lives of fictional characters to deal with your own problems.  Catharsis!  Those ancient Greeks were on to something. I’d like to start...

Okay, so instead of watching the pilot of my favorite show and then writing about it I am apparently spending the night in the hospital. Huzzah. In any case, I will probably be home tomorrow and will write then.

so uh, I'm bored
I don’t want to wait until next next Thursday, so I’ll be starting this Thursday. And realizing the great bulk of episodes there are in a six season television show, let’s do this every week instead of every other. Yay! Let the adventure begin!
